Baby rashes may caused by variety of factors. The common causes of rashes found in babies are hot, humid weather, chemicals, and food. Baby may develop allergic reaction or food intolerance caused by particular of foods.
There are foods that have a higher chance to cause baby rashes. At the top big five, foods that cause allergic reactions in young children are including cow’s milk, eggs, soy products, peanuts and wheat products. The other causes of an allergic reaction such as fish, tree nuts, berries, citrus fruits, tomatoes and shellfish. When baby has food intolerance or shows allergic reaction towards particular food, baby may develop eczema, a dry, itchy, scaly skin rash. There are some common types of baby rashes caused by food. The first common type is rash found on baby face after eating food that baby is sensitive to. The rash is usually spotted around mouth, baby cheeks become reddish, and baby has diarrhea. The rash may also occur around baby anus. A more serious reaction caused by allergic reaction may cause hives, raised welts that will move from part of body to another part of baby body.
To prevent rashes caused by food occur, you need to avoid offering foods that have high chances to cause allergy before baby reach one year of age. The other options is starting solid foods until baby reach 6 months of age to minimize the chances of food intolerances or allergies. It is always said that breast milk is the best food for baby, and breastfeeding may lower the risk the chances baby has allergies or food sensitivities.
